2025 Best Design for TOFU studio
Our second Best of Design award at the Golden Pin Design Award in Taiwan.
At the beginning of December, Tofu Studio received international recognition at the prestigious Golden Pin Design Award. Our Clean City Gdańsk visual identity was selected among 22 winning projects from thousands of submissions worldwide.
The jury highlighted the project’s use of innovative and minimalist graphics to clearly communicate the principles of circularity and sustainability. According to the jury statement, the visual language resonates with audiences across different cultures—an essential quality in an international competition. By combining strong aesthetics with environmental education, the project demonstrates how design can effectively support sustainable urban practices.
The award ceremony took place at the Taipei Performing Arts Center. Poland was represented by Rene Wawrzkiewicz (Polish Graphic Design) and Grzegorz Sienkiewicz (Polish Office in Taipei), alongside Tofu Studio’s Project Manager, Aleksandra Chabior.
As part of the Golden Pin Award program, the Clean City Gdańsk project will be exhibited at the Taiwan Design Museum at the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park in Taipei until 26 April 2026.
In addition to the award ceremony, Ola participated in a media tour organized as part of Taiwan Design Week. The program included visits to Trash Kitchen—a creative workshop where waste materials are transformed into functional design objects—as well as to Acer’s Taipei headquarters, where innovative approaches to sustainable hardware production were presented. One such solution involves the use of PET plastic combined with oyster shells as a base material for computer equipment.
The tour concluded with a visit to Qingshan Elementary and Junior High School in New Taipei, where thoughtfully designed interiors promote creativity while emphasizing natural materials and ecological values.
The visit to Taiwan proved to be an inspiring experience and an important step in building new international relationships within the global design community.
